How the 5-Step System Works
Step 1: Choose an illustration style and insert the 2 digit code on the submission page. (See Sample Gallery, and hover over each illustration or click to enlarge the picture for the 2-digit code.)
Step 2: We complete a non-compete agreement and you send us your manuscript.
Step 3: Together we complete a "Book Map" of the book so that the illustrator knows what you want to see in each picture of the book This is the point where we will determine how many illustrations and how much the project will cost.
Step 4: Your illustrator completes a black and white sketch of the entire book. We are not finished until you are happy. If we cannot make you happy, you can get a full refund except for a small $150.00 sketch fee.
Step 5: Your illustrator completes the full-color images for the book. The illustrator will make adjustments if necessary and your book is ready for publication.

Here is a real example of how our simple process works keeping you in control of the final illustration:

Illustration Notes:
Type verbal description of items desired in the picture. The illustrator will use his/her experience to create a fun illustration, but if you have any specifics which you want included, please explain them here.

Linda (Author): Here is the book map for my book (this example shows pages 6 and 7 of her book).
Illustration Notes
I see Larry with red hair and freckles and maybe a little over weight. He wears a baseball cap. This picture shows his glove and ball.
Illustration Notes
Not sure about this one, but I want Larry in his uniform.

My baseball glove is soft and pliable. It turns my hand into a huge calloused claw. I can snatch a fly ball from the air with out a sting.

The bat transforms my arms into a long wooden muscle. I focus in on the pitch and connect. The crack of the bat excites my ears and tells my legs to take off running. It takes a lot of work to be a good baseball player. Now, does that sound lazy to you?

Linda: Please make the following changes to page 6.
I love the way Larry looks. I have decided that I want to see Larry holding his glove in this picture rather than just seeing the glove and ball.
Also please make the following changes to page 7:
I want to see Larry batting in this picture not pitching. Please show him batting and hitting a high fly ball.

Illustrator: Linda please see the changes I made to pages 6 and 7.

Linda: Wow, page 7 is perfect! This sketch is approved.
On Page 6, I want to see Larry pounding his hand into his glove, like he is warming up the glove.

Illustrator: Linda, please see the changes to the sketch for Page 6.

Linda: Great. I like it. This picture is approved.

Illustrator: Linda, Please find the finished illustrations for your book. Let me know if there are any other changes.

Linda: Wow! Thank you so much. I love it. Working with you is great!
